Anuel AA on His Sobriety, Mending His Relationship With Cosculluela & His New Corridos Album | Billboard Latin

In his first in-depth interview in several years, Anuel AA talks about how, after hitting rock bottom with drugs and alcohol, he found the strength to return to music — not with one album, but two. On Nov. 19, Anuel AA will release Real Hasta la Muerte 2, a tribute to the original Real Hasta la Muerte, alongside his first corridos album, Cartel Real Hasta la Muerte.

The rapper also shares that Karol G still hasn’t unblocked him on social media and how he made peace with fellow rapper Cosculluela. He opens up about his sobriety, and how during his darkest moments, he couldn’t recognize himself in the mirror. Today, he’s celebrating new collaborations with Fuerza Regida and Luis R Conriquez, as well as his love for Mexican culture. He also talks about how much he loves his children, why De La Rose is like “Anuel in a woman’s body,” Puerto Rico, and the new music festival he’ll launch in 2027.

I’m not exercising. I’m working, eating healthy and working — pure music and pure business always.

And when did this lifestyle change start?

It started about six months ago.

And why?

Because one matures with time, if you understand me. Through life situations, one learns, and I don’t know, I started to feel like I already wanted — I wanted it, I wanted a change in me already.
