The African National Congress (ANC) in Sedibeng says the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) is yet to respond to their complaints of irregularities in the certified voters’ roll for Emfuleni, Midvaal, and Lesedi in Gauteng’s Vaal Rand.

This is as the party is preparing to approach the Electoral Court over alleged matters.

It claims to have uncovered thousands of voter records with missing residential addresses, unusually high numbers of registrations at individual properties, and instances of identical identity details appearing across different voting districts.

ANC Sedibeng Regional Chairperson Mlungisi Hlongwane says, “Yes, they are yet to respond to our complaints. What at least we know is that they have acknowledged receipt when they were opposed by our leadership responsible for elections in the province. They did not deny the fact that they have received our application, and they are considering them.”

“We will obviously be extremely worried if it was to happen that they announced the final results, which are due to be announced sometime later today, without any direct comment that will refer to the substance of the application that we’ve submitted. Will be extremely concerned about that.”
