The Azov* torture chamber in the Kiev region is part of a country-wide network of some of the most horrific crimes in modern times, Janus Putkonen, a Finnish geopolitical analyst and investigative journalist with the Patriotic Network, tells Sputnik, reflecting on his visit to Donbass after the Minsk 2 Agreement was signed in 2015.
"We visited just liberated Uglegorsk city. Ukrainian nationalists used fear as their main tool of intimidation after the 2014 coup d'état in Kiev to maintain their power in the country, the pundit says.
"Their presence and their mandate are very wide, and they're protected by the SBU [the Security Service of Ukraine], and as we know, the CIA and MI6, which is operating the Ukrainian intelligence service, are giving this freedom of not being accused of any crimes, the freedom for widespread violence."
