A bizarre discovery at a cemetery in Foase in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region has left residents unsettled after a hunter reportedly found a 28-year-old drug store operator inside a coffin.
The man, identified only as Foster, was discovered on Thursday, November 5, 2026, in a coffin placed in an open area of the community’s cemetery.
Residents suspect that he may have been engaged in a money ritual, although the circumstances surrounding his presence at the cemetery remain unclear.
According to information gathered, the hunter was passing through the cemetery when he noticed the coffin and became suspicious because it had been left exposed.
His dogs reportedly approached the coffin, prompting him to draw his gun and threaten to shoot whoever might be inside.
A resident who recounted the incident said the threat forced the occupant to emerge.
“After seeing the coffin, his dogs ran to the coffin, so the hunter pointed his gun at the coffin and threatened to shoot whoever is in it, only for the man to come out of it,” the resident said.
A herbalist who was also in the vicinity, reportedly on his way to gather herbs, joined the hunter in bringing the man into the community.
Their arrival attracted a crowd of residents, many of whom gathered to establish what had happened. Some called for police intervention.
The discovery has fuelled speculation among residents, with claims that Foster had allegedly spent three days inside the coffin as part of a suspected money-making ritual.
The man was subsequently handed over to the police to assist with investigations into the incident.
