Constituency Youth Organisers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), alongside delegates from the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN), have filed nomination forms for the party’s National Youth Working Committee Chairman, Okai Mintah, to contest for the position of National Youth Organiser.
The nomination filing, which involved youth representatives from across the country, signals growing grassroots support for Mr Mintah’s bid to lead the party’s Youth Wing ahead of its internal elections.
In the Greater Accra Region, constituency Youth Organisers and TEIN delegates joined the process to formally submit nomination forms on his behalf, demonstrating support from both the party’s constituency youth structures and its student wing.
The involvement of the two groups highlights the campaign’s emphasis on grassroots mobilisation, institutional representation and unity as the contest for the National Youth Organiser position gathers momentum.
Mr Mintah, who currently chairs the NDC National Youth Working Committee, has been actively involved in youth organisation and mobilisation within the party.
His experience in coordinating youth-related activities and engaging party youth structures forms part of the credentials underpinning his ambition to become the party’s next National Youth Organiser.
His campaign is centred on building a more responsive, inclusive and action-oriented Youth Wing, with a focus on addressing the concerns and aspirations of young party members while creating opportunities for their participation in party activities.
The nomination filing is also expected to provide an opportunity for the campaign to strengthen its engagement with constituency youth organisers, TEIN branches and other stakeholders across the party.
With constituency youth leaders and student representatives participating in the nomination process, Mr Mintah’s campaign is seeking to build a broad support base around grassroots participation, collective leadership and a stronger voice for young people in the NDC.
The development marks another step in his bid to lead the party’s Youth Wing as preparations for the internal elections intensify.
