A former councillor and former deputy mayor of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro Luxolo Namette was shot dead in Motherwell on Saturday afternoon.
The United Democratic Movement (UDM) says his murder casts a dark shadow over the just concluded election.
The party says Namette’s political journey began in the ranks of the UDM Youth Vanguard where he was a spirited young activist. He served as the chairperson of the Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) in the Nelson Mandela Bay metro.
