The Democratic Alliance says it is open to negotiate coalitions with any party that shares the same principles as them. The party’s Federal Executive has mandated the party to initiate discussions with political parties that share a commitment to clean and accountable government, rooting out corruption, service delivery for all, the rule of law, and non-racialism.

The party’s performance at this year’s municipal polls has increased to over 24% up from 21.66% that they received in 2021.

The party Federal Council Chairperson, Ashur Sarupen says the DA Federal Executive has mandated the party to initiate coalition discussions with all political parties, seeking to form governments where no party has secured an outright majority.

“Principles of accountable governments, rooting out corruption, service delivery for all, the rule of law, and non-racialism will form the foundation of our approach to coalition negotiations. The DA coalition discussions have been coordinated nationally under the da vigilance executives authority to ensure consistent, principled approach across the country.”
