Last month, Dar and Al Busaidi co-chaired the eighth session of the Pakistan-Oman Joint Ministerial Commission in Islamabad, marking the resumption of the forum after a gap of seven years.
During the meeting, the two countries reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in trade and investment, maritime and logistics connectivity, agriculture, industry, energy, workforce mobility, human resource development, education, information technology and climate change.
Dar stressed the need for regular institutional engagement and timely implementation of agreements reached between the two sides to translate existing understandings into tangible outcomes.
The two countries also agreed to strengthen business-to-business engagement, encourage exchanges of business delegations and promote investment opportunities in their respective special economic and free zones.
The October meeting also resulted in the signing of an agreement on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, special, service and official passports, alongside memoranda of understanding covering telecommunications and information technology, media cooperation, news and information exchange, and archival cooperation.
Earlier, in July, Dar and Al Busaidi met on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum in Manila, where they agreed to enhance high-level exchanges, trade and investment ties, people-to-people contacts and coordination at multilateral forums.
