Rise Mzansi leader Songezo Zibi says they are open to coalition talks with any party, just as long as they meet their conditions.

Zibi spoke to journalists at the Elections Results Operations Centre (ROC) in Midrand, Johannesburg, on Friday.

The party contested only seven municipalities across three provinces, including the City of Johannesburg, Tshwane, Ekurhuleni and Mogale City.

In the Eastern Cape, they contested in Buffalo City; and in Limpopo, Greater Tzaneen and Polokwane.

“Firstly, we are going to talk to everybody. There is no maturity in saying, ‘we don’t want to talk to you’, right? One of the reasons I  listed the issues that are important, for instance, a written coalition agreement, clear service delivery targets, accommodating the six governance pillars that you’ve placed on the table, really important. The parties will select and deselect themselves on that basis. So, anybody who says we don’t want to publish a coalition agreement at all, it must be secret, that just might become a problem,” says Zibi.
