ActionSA Tshwane Mayoral candidate Dr Nasiphi Moya has thanked the people of Tshwane for the confidence they have shown in her leadership.

She was speaking at the Electoral Commission Results Centre in Midrand.

This is as the preliminary results of Wednesday’s polls show that ActionSA has won more than 20 wards after not getting a single one in the 2021 election.

“I just want to express my gratitude to the people of Tshwane. The chairperson talks about us never having won wards in 2021 and now talks about provisionally 27 wards having been won in the City of Tshwane, and that is a story we take pride in. It is not a story of rhetoric, a story of promises made; it is a story that emerges from the partnership between myself as the Executive, working with the coalition, but most importantly with the residents of Tshwane.”

Moya says the number of wards won across the city is also a reflection of the party’s achievement, working with the coalition, in prioritising residents in all of the city’s areas.

“The fact that the wards where we have won are across the City of Tshwane it’s not only one part of Tshwane or one demographic or one class  it says a lot so for me most importantly is for people of Tshwane who have endured with us when we were turning around a broken city but we did not have a lot of protests in the City of Tshwane, the people of Tshwane waited at home and said the Mayor promised things will happen so we will wait for our turn so I cannot thank the people of Tshwane enough for the last 24 months.”
