JoyNews’ Nana Boakye Dankwah Yiadom has been selected as a finalist for the 2026 Africa Media Development Foundation (AMDF) Journalist of the Year Award in the Television category.

The selection recognises his contribution to journalism and follows what the Foundation describes as a highly competitive assessment of entries submitted for this year’s awards.

In a congratulatory message to the journalist, the AMDF said his work stood out among the entries considered by the panel of judges.

“We are delighted to recognise your contribution to journalism through this year’s awards,” the Foundation stated.

The award presentation will take place during the 10th Africa Conference on Development Journalism (ACDJ2026), scheduled for December 2 to 4, 2026, in Kaduna, Nigeria.

Winners and runners-up in the various categories will be announced and presented with award plaques during the conference.

The Africa Media Development Foundation is committed to promoting media development and strengthening journalism across the continent.

Nana Boakye Yiadom’s selection adds to his list of professional recognitions for his work in investigative, environmental, health and development journalism.
