More details are coming to light from a place we didn't expect. Today (Nov. 5), Warby Parker held its Q3 earnings call, where it unveiled details about Intelligent Eyewear.
Through a press release, Warby Parker covered its Q3 earnings; however, it gave us a (very) good idea about when we'll see more of Samsung's Android XR glasses, Intelligent Eyewear (via 9to5Google). According to the company, pre-orders for these glasses will begin "in one week," which puts us at November 12.
Warby Parker states it will begin accepting pre-orders for the device on that date. It adds that this will be for its "first collection" and that it will "look forward to delivering customer orders during the holiday season."
The company's CEO, Dave Gilboa, and its co-founder/co-CEO, Neil Blumenthal, echoed the same phrase: "first collection." It gives the feeling that Warby Parker will continue its work with Samsung for another round—likely with a new design—in the future. That's purely speculative for now, so we'll have to see how the glasses perform.
However, we can't let something go: the company's CEO directly mentioned this holiday season, and we hope you know what we're about to bring up next.
Keep your eyes peeled

It was only three days ago that rumors surfaced about Android XR's Intelligent Eyewear release window. It was reported that Samsung was interested in launching its glasses in "mid-December." What's more, Intelligent Eyewear might release in South Korea and the U.S. only. Reports add that this could be done deliberately. Samsung might launch Intelligent Eyewear and focus on consumer reception.
These rumors went against what was said before. Intelligent Eyewear was originally rumored to launch in November; however, we've since been pushed back a month. This appears more likely now, given what Warby Parker's CEO said in the Q3 earnings call. Android Central went hands-on with Samsung's Android XR glasses, and it was evident that Samsung wants to change public opinion.
Intelligent Eyewear has style. That much is true, as Samsung partnered with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster to design frames. Alongside Qualcomm's Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1, Intelligent Eyewear is designed to work in tandem with your Galaxy phone, not replace it.
