According to the IEC results the DA emerged in fourth position in KZN, garnering 14.17% and 157 seats.
The uMkhonto weSizwe Party is leading in the overall share of the vote with 18 councils, whilst the IFP leads in 19 councils.
The ANC is leading three.
DA KZN leader Sithembiso Ngema explains, “People are tired of being given promises over promises but there’s no change. This time around we’re saying enough is enough. We will see you in a ballot box and they’ve done exactly that. So, the results that we are getting as political parties are what we have done to the communities, what we have promised and what we have done before. They are looking forward to us to come together now. To see if we can be able to put together a government that is going to work. As the DA in KZN we are clear that we will work with those parties that are willing to deliver services to our people.”
