In brief: The US Department of State’s Rewards for Justice program has announced a bounty of up to $20 million and permanent resettlement for actionable intelligence on Iran’s nuclear program, targeting facilities, hardware, and scientific personnel. The State Department emphasized that Iran remains the only non-nuclear state enriching uranium to 60 percent purity, which could yield material for several nuclear weapons if further enriched, while the IAEA has lost continuity of knowledge over centrifuge stockpiles.
The US has announced a reward of up to $20 million for actionable intelligence regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran’s nuclear program, offering financial compensation alongside permanent relocation opportunities for informants, the US Department of State announced.
Administered by the State Department’s Rewards for Justice program, the reward seeks actionable disclosures covering Iranian nuclear sites, specialized enrichment machinery, and personnel, specifically targeting researchers and figures within the Iranian scientific establishment.

“Iran is the only non-nuclear-weapon state that is producing uranium enriched to such high levels.
Experts assess that this quantity, if further enriched, could be sufficient to manufacture several nuclear weapons,” the State Department said in an official statement.
US authorities noted that Tehran’s persistent failure to fulfill its mandatory safeguard obligations under the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) caused the United Nations nuclear watchdog to lose “continuity of knowledge” concerning the production, stockpiling, and installation of critical components, including high-speed gas centrifuges.
Current status of Iran’s uranium enrichment
According to evaluations documented by the IAEA, Iran has accelerated the enrichment of uranium up to 60 percent purity at heavily fortified facilities.
The 60 percent threshold represents a short technical step from the roughly 90 percent weapons-grade concentration required to produce a functional nuclear warhead.
Nobody Knows Anything
Independent nuclear non-proliferation analysts calculate that Tehran possesses a sufficient quantity of 60 percent enriched material that, if processed through a rapid breakout dash, could yield fissile material for multiple nuclear devices within weeks.
The erosion of international monitoring protocols followed decisions by Iranian authorities to disconnect surveillance cameras, revoke the accreditation of senior UN inspectors, and deny access to centrifuge component workshops, preventing the IAEA from independently verifying the civilian nature of the country’s atomic activities.
The Rewards for Justice initiative aims to bypass official concealment by incentivizing defectors, technicians, and whistleblowers to deliver primary documentation, technical blueprints, and operational personnel lists directly to American intelligence agencies.
US-Iran military friction
The multi-million-dollar bounty arrives amid heightened regional tensions and warnings that Washington could authorize direct kinetic operations against Iranian military nodes.
Prior to the Nov. 3 US midterm elections, Axios reported, citing a senior American official, that US President Donald Trump could be more inclined to approve a large-scale military strike against Iran if the Republican Party faced setbacks at the ballot box.
“If he feels embarrassed or disenfranchised, he will do something bold,” the official said, adding that intermediaries advised Iranian negotiators that their most viable opportunity to finalize an armistice was ahead of the election cycle.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Florida on Oct. 23, Trump openly signaled his readiness to target Iranian infrastructure, referencing previous military missions code-named “Epic Fury.”
“We may do another little Epic Fury,“ Trump told supporters, invoking the operational code name associated with US precision strikes against Iranian military assets.
The standoff between Washington and Tehran has driven extraordinary domestic protection protocols within the US.
On Oct. 31, photographic disclosures confirmed that the US Secret Service deployed AN/TWQ-1 Avenger surface-to-air missile systems mounted on a floating barge adjacent to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.
Federal court filings submitted by the agency seeking permanent airspace restrictions over the property cited an “elevated, real, and dynamic” threat environment, with federal agents pointing to persistent Iranian retaliation risks alongside past domestic assassination attempts.
The escalating confrontation with Iran also intersects with European and Ukrainian defense concerns.
President Volodymyr Zelensky previously disclosed that Kyiv identified evidence of Russian defense transfers to Tehran, including space-based satellite reconnaissance feeds and drone components, highlighting an expanding military-technical axis between Moscow and Tehran as Washington expands economic and intelligence pressure against Iran’s nuclear complex.
