Four people were killed and one seriously injured after two light motor vehicles collided head-on on the R541 road between Lochiel and Badplaas in Mpumalanga.
Provincial Community Safety, Security and Liaison spokesperson Moeti Mmusi says both drivers of the vehicles were killed in the crash.
“They all died at the scene of the crash. One female passenger sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the nearby hospital, Embuleni Hospital for further treatment. The cause of the crash is not yet known at this stage, however, the investigation is already underway. Reckless and negligence driving cannot be ruled out at this point.”
