A fire has destroyed a vulcanising shop at Dominase in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region, although personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) managed to save a 1,500KVA transformer belonging to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
According to a post shared on Facebook on Saturday, November 7, the Diaso Fire Station responded to the incident on Thursday, November 5, 2026, arriving at the scene at 6:11 a.m. to find the shop fully engulfed in flames, which were rapidly spreading to nearby properties.
The firefighters deployed tactical measures to contain the blaze and successfully extinguished it at 7:02 a.m., preventing further damage to surrounding properties.
Although the vulcanising shop was destroyed, the crew salvaged the ECG transformer and other properties.
No casualties were recorded in the incident, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
