Kensington police arrested a 37yr-old male suspect and recovered goods worth R432 745-00 yesterday, 05/11.

The arrest is a result of an intensive investigation into several fraud cases reported in Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape and Gauteng. The syndicate targeted hardware stores and used fraudulent identification documents to purchase goods on credit, which they resold on the black market. Crime Intelligence identified several storage facilities that were used by the suspects in the province. On Thursday, 05 November 2026, police monitored one of the storage facilities in 11th Street Kensington, where they had credible intelligence about a delivery of goods, fraudulently purchased from a company in East London.

The receiver was arrested for possession of suspected stolen property and will appear before the Cape Town Magistrate’s court on Monday, 09/11. Additional arrests are expected as the investigation unfolds. ME
