IEC Provincial Head of Elections in the Northern Cape Elkin Topkin says that they are glad that they have finally concluded the hard work that they have been doing for the past four days without sleeping.

“It has been quite a long four days for us, especially last 48 hours without sleep and we are really glad that we’ve concluded. There is still the issue of Siyaquma where we have one outstanding voting station, this we cannot conclude which means the municipality can’t constitute as well and it’s bitter sweet issue but we hope we will have a speedy resolution to it. it’s really an exhorbitant time for our staff members, 40 hours without sleep and still having to continue and I must say we are so grateful to our staff who are committed and dedicated.”
