The family of the 57-year-old man who was shot and killed outside a voting station at Boikhutso Trust near Dwarsloop, Busbuckridge, in Mpumalanga, have called on police to arrest the perpetrator.

Prince Mamba, Ward 37 ANC branch Chairperson, was killed while celebrating with other party supporters outside the voting station.

It is alleged that three men came and joined the celebrations and one of them opened fire and killed Mamba.

Family spokesperson Patrick Maphanga says, “They phoned me around about 1pm. Then we went to the hospital. They said they took him to the hospital. When we reached at the hospital, then we find out that he is no more. We did see him breathing. The family are in pain. All of us are. This guy was a breadwinner for all the families. Now we are devastated. We don’t know what we are going to do. We’re just waiting for the police to do their job. We will be happy if they find the perpetrator.”
