Medical authorities reported that the wounded include three men aged 23, 56, and 69, and four women aged 29, 41, 78, and 90. Emergency services hospitalized four victims aged 41, 56, 69, and 90, while the remaining three individuals received outpatient treatment for blast injuries.
The bombardment inflicted extensive structural damage on more than 15 private and multi-story apartment buildings. The kinetic impacts also disrupted municipal natural gas distribution networks and electrical power lines, triggering localized utility outages.
Engineering detachments and municipal repair services deployed to inspect structural damage across the blast perimeters and stabilize compromised life-support networks.
How strikes affected the Kyiv region
The airstrikes on Sumy followed an aerial strike on Friday evening in the Kyiv region, where a Russian loitering munition hit a private home in the village of Bohdanivka in Brovary district.
The strike destroyed the residence, sparked a fire, and buried a married couple under structural rubble

A 66-year-old woman pulled herself from the debris, while rescue crews extricated her 75-year-old husband from beneath concrete wreckage. Both received emergency medical assistance at the scene, though Kyiv Regional State Administration Head Tymur Tkachenko later announced that the husband succumbed to his injuries.
Municipal firefighting crews extinguished the blaze across the collapsed dwelling later Friday night.
Missile attack on Kyiv
The strikes in Sumy and Bohdanivka coincided with an overnight missile attack on the capital into Saturday, Nov. 7, during which Russian forces launched at least six ballistic missiles toward Kyiv.
The ballistic barrage wounded five people, including a child, and destroyed a two-story building on the grounds of a kindergarten in the capital’s Solomianskyi district.
Blast waves and flying debris damaged several neighboring five-story residential buildings, causing a ground-floor facade to collapse on one structure and shattering windows across the surrounding residential quarter.
The missile impacts also ignited fires in a parked transport truck and an adjacent nonresidential building, which were suppressed by municipal emergency responders.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that missile debris damaged apartment blocks and advised residents to remain in subterranean shelters while air raid alerts were in effect across the capital.
