With 46% of voting districts declared in the city of Polokwane in Limpopo, the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) predicts that the ANC will lose 20 percentage points there.

The ANC is projected to obtain 42% of support in the city compared to the 62% they received in the 2021 local government election.

According to the CSIR projection model, the ANC is predicted to lose their majority in the city of Polokwane, which will force coalitions.

ActionSA is predicted to pick up 7% of the vote, while the South African Communist Party (SACP) is likely to pick up 5% of the vote.

The city had just under 400 000 registered voters.
